Talking your favorite oldschool computer game..

http://www.cdaccess.com/gifs/shared/...e/masteror.gif

Master of Orion! I loved that game.. Microprose used to make the best games. MOO was like Civilization in outer space. Very addicting, and challenging.

Still one of my fav games.. MOO2 was pretty good but added way to much micromanagement to the game, which kinda took away from the whole experience. MOO3 comes out next month.. i hope it's a good one.

Some of my other fav oldschool games growing up:

Colonization
Lord of the Realm
Warcraft 1 & 2
Ultimate Domain
Theme Park

there was this game called "Odell Lake", i believe, which wonderfully combined completing math problems and the undersea food chain.

heh yep, me too. back in the mid 80's when we had "computer day" once a week when they would wheel in the old apple computer and everyone would gather around it, and if you were lucky you'd be given a chance to press a key!

I have some great games for my c64.. I've never played Elite though, but if I recall i think that's the game that inspired Master of Orion

perhaps not that oldschool, but the first computer game i played religiously was the original civilization. i played some games that were before my time (mid to late 80's) but nothing in particular comes to mind right now.
