Spin-off: Moderator Campaign Proposal

strange_one's resignation from moderator status has clearly left a power vacuum in the administrative levels of Netphoria, a void that must be filled promptly if we are to prevent Netphoria from plunging itself into anarchy, which would surely kill us all.

I would like to be the first to formally step forward and announce my candidacy. I feel I have to credentials to fill that void, help Netphoria pick itself up and dust itself off, and carry on to a bold, promising future.

Although many of you may not know who I am, I have lurked in the proverbial shadows since the infant days of Netphoria, and watched the naive, modest young message board grow up and flourish to become the bustling discussion hub it is today. Netphoria is far more than a conglomeration of the message threads and servers and workstations that comprise its physical structure on the internet; Netphoria is a community, and possibly an experience in itself. In such a community, strong leadership and just representation is not only an asset; it is a necessity.

One of the keys to a successful candidate is relative neutrality. On Netphoria I have no enemies. I despise no one. I hold no vendettas or grudges. I will not be bought over. In fact, the only agenda I can be accused of having is holding the best interests of Netphoria at heart, but I can hardly be blamed for that, as such an agenda is compatible with that of the greater part of the community. The only individuals I will not stand for, however, are those who attack the very foundations of Netphoria itself, our freedom to interact. Spamming the boards, hacking, and so forth inhibit our ability to interact, and thus will not be tolerated.

Consider me as one of your future moderators, fellow Netphorians, and I promise you this message board's continued prosperity, more crunch in every spoonful, and more boob and masturbation threads (with pix). Thank you.

Who cares about this stupid moderator appointment? We all know it doesn't matter who gets appointed moderator of the general chat message board. You think it's going to change anything around here, make one single person happier or smarter or nicer? The only person it matters to is the one who gets elected. The same pathetic charade happens every time a moderator steps down, and everyone makes the same pathetic promises just so they can put it on their transcripts to get into Something Awful. So vote for my appointment, because I don't even want to go to Something Awful, and I don't care, and as moderator I won't do anything. The only promise I make is that if elected I will immediately dismantle the moderator heirarchy AND Pakula's Miata rims, so that none of us will ever have to read through one of these stupid campaign proposals or a "HEY CHECK OUT MY CAR" thread again!

Oh don't vote for me! Who cares? Don't vote at all!
