halloween 3 Season of the witch is the worst horror flick ever, no micheal myers and a nonsense plot that ain't scary worth shit.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is like the standard for bloody gory ones

my personal favorite is 'the boogeyman'. it's a cool one about a mirror and how it gives birth to a murder,at times it seems hokey but it redeems itself with odd ways of killing people and a scary plot.

I've always enjoyed the child's play series too for some reason

the changling
rosemary's baby (it's about my birth)
killjoy the clown is soo hokey it's hilarious
dusk til dawn
dead alive is the goriest ever supposedly

the best is probly cannibal ferox, but good luck finding it. It's underground and banned in like 30 something states. at one point they chop off some guy's penis and make him eat it.

evil dead is good. army of darkness is funnier.

the exorcist isn't really that scary anymore.

psycho doesn't seem scary anymore neither but it scared me alot as a kid.

all the friday the 13th's are ok. Jason goes to hell or the first one is the best though.

Freddy and the nightmare on elm street stuff is ok if you want to laugh.

nosferatu is scary because the vampire in it just looks creepy even though he doesn't really do anything most of the movie.

salem's lot is good.

the omen is good.

phantasm is good.

Hellraiser is awesome.

tales from the crypt demon knight is legendary.

old horror flicks like frankenstein, dracula, the mummy ETC are ok if your set to pay attention alot and overlook somewhat cheesy effects.

the lost boys is another good one except they had to put those two annoying little pre-teen kids in it.

bad dreams is a good one

basketcase is ok

bloodsucking freaks is hilarious

dawn of the dead and all the george a romero flicks are good

creepshow is cool, and so is creepshow 2

If you just want gory stuff to make you queezy though, you have to go with the faces of death videos. Since it's all real deaths and stuff, it hits you alot stronger.

i dunno there's alot of good horror flicks, normally i go right to the horror section in the video store, then i found a little place that specializes in underground horror by my neighborhood and i have gone there ever since. they rent some weird stuff out there. they have a section called 'odd' with stuff like incredibly gory drivers ed 'shock videos'.

Can you reccomend ones that are actually scary? The Shining was good, but not frightening to me. Same with the exorcist et al.

If you haven't seen Ring 2 then check it out. I found it scary, and none of the other films in this thread (the ones I've seen, anyway) scared me in the least.

It's the sequel to Ring, which is about a videotape that causes the watcher to die one week later.

You don't need to have seen Ring in order to watch Ring 2, just know that in the first film someone dies after watching the tape. The sequel features this man's girlfriend trying to find out about the woman in the videotape in the hope of ending the curse and protecting the dead man' son.
