well, it's PPV time again, not that anyone really cares I think. very average card with this one, if the Hell In A Cell match was not taking place then I doubt I would even be watching this one. my picks:

Lesnar beats Taker by disqualification somehow. Taker is going to be having a break for the next month or so apparently.

HHH beats Kane, bye bye IC title.

RVD beats Flair, I really don't care about this match

Christian/Jericho retain the titles against Booker/Goldust. I think that the long haired boys make an ok team

Victoria beats Trish, just so this fued runs till next PPV

Smackdown Tag titles I don't know much about since I don't watch that show.

I have no interest in this PPV at all. I mean, there is a fucking *Hell in a Cell* match, and I could care less- that's not saying much. The build up for this match has been horrible. Same for the Kane-HHH match. I am pissed that they are dropping the IC title. I know they want less titles, but getting rid of the one title that most fans still seem to care about these days isn't smart. Just watching that video recap on Raw about the title was enough to remind people what kind of prestigious title it is.

There is no excuse for Booker being mired in tag competition. Granted, I *love* Booker and Goldust- there schtick is often the most entertaining in the show- but Booker is by far the most over fan fave right now. He should be going for a title. Hey, if the IC title was sticking around, that'd be perfect, then they could build for a world title match, which he deserves. Nobody bought it a year ago when BT was challenging the Rock for the world title because BT was being shoved down our throats. Now, the fans want to see him win. They love the guy. Build a classic storyline around him as he tries to win the championship. Hopefully they'll do this with WMX9 being the pinnacle.

The Trish-Victoria storyline has been well done, surprisingly, and hopefully will continue for a little while. Trish still amazes me in how far she has come as a wrestler in the past couple years. Her, Victoria, and Molly have done a lot to make the ladies matches more credible. It's too bad we get stuck watching Dawn Marie-Torrie after that (it's almost guaranteed to be the match prior to the HiaC match), bringing all credibility crashing down.

Yeah - T and Goldust are completely over, and yet in singles competition, Booker is stuck with the useless Big Show, and Goldust gets jobbed out to William Regal. Both wrestlers have "MAIN EVENTER" written all over them, but they're completely ignored while HHH and Kane churn out the ridiculous "Murderer-Necrophiliac" angle, which is probably the writing team's attempt to outdo the Sgt. Slaughter turns Iraqi angle of 10 years ago for sheer offensiveness.

I doubt the IC title will go though, if HHH does win. I can understand the Euro/Hardcore titles going, because both had become absolutely worthless. However, the IC title has a looong history, so taking it away would be stupid - it will probably just be declared vacant, and a tournament will follow. Then again, i don't put anything past this crappy writing team. If it does go, then it would be absolutely stupid - who the fuck wants to see HHH going "I AM THE GAMEAAHHH" while him, Rock, Kane etc. play hot potato with it every month?

I don't know though - i don't watch RAW so i'm not up to date. I don't know if titles are made vacant anymore or anything - it doesn't sound that way.

just for the record, i'm skipping this one. well... mostly because me and my friends all got drunk last night and some of us don't want to spend money two nights in a row, but i'm still not very interested.

i'm not interested in the hell in the cell match because the build for it is gay. in theory an intense dislike for each other between brock and taker should have been enough to sell this match, but it was not. does the wwe reconsider the match? nope, they throw in some shit about the undertaker cheating on his wife. ditto the hhh/kane match, except replace "cheating on his wife" with "raping a corpse." 2 world title matches, 2 sub-par soap opera storylines (am i wrong, they used to be able to come up with better than this, right?). and i agree cutting the ic title is going too far. i liked the cutting of the hardcore and euro titles because having so many singles title was cheapening them. and what's the reasoning with new tag titles? is it just me, or does it look like they're "balancing" so they can do a unification ppv and scrap brand extension?

either let rvd get over on hhh, or don't. but leave the best-ever out of it, it's not fair to him or us. hhh tries to stack the odds in a non-title match, it backfires, and he STILL wins! but it's ok cause rvd gets his heat back from the seemingly endless pit of heat that is ric flair (or at least that's how the writing crew treats him).

i like christian and jericho as a team (even though they're fucking THROWING AWAY A GREAT FUCKING SINGLES FUED between jericho and booker). i liked bookdust as a team, but their time has passed. i like angle and benoit as a team (the same way i liked benoit/jericho as a team about a year ago). i don't like edge and rey j. as a team. i fucking loved the guererros as a team, they could have AT LEAST made it to the ppv. btw, does anyone else see a problem when the company is hurting for main event heels and the best 4 heels in the company (jericho, angle, benoit and eddie g.) are in tag teams.

2 womens matches? what the fuck? why are torrie and dawn-marie wrestling? why isn't it at least some degrading theme match? why is torrie's dad involved (hint, it is NOT his stellar acting ability)? why can't victoria cut a promo? and why, despite this, is the trish/victoria match the best built match on the card?

i'm hoping the talent can overcome the shitty writing, as they've done from time-to-time over the past few months, and put on a show i'll read about and feel bad for missing. but my hopes are not high. i also hope this ppv is the straw that breaks vinny-mac's iron will concerning his loyal henchmen, undertaker and hhh.

I thought This also. As soon as the book came back into the picture to finish his excellent catch phrase I remembered how great jericho was as a whiny baby heel(in referance to his wcw career).

His angles back then were almost as brilliant as his matches. I miss that jericho, JPS 4 ever.

I would also like to see another lion tamer from the top turnbuckle.

well, don't worry funnygeezus, you didn't miss a hell of a lot.

BookDust Vs Jericho/Christian - not a bad opener, the second ring rope broke late in the match and caused jericho to go for a moonsault off the turnbuckle instead of his lionsault.

Dawn Marie Vs Torrie - boring

RVD Vs Flair - pretty average, had a few ok moments. Flair controlled most of the match which was suprising

Tajiri Vs Noble - standard cruiserweight match

Kane Vs HHH - this was really pretty dull for the first 3/4 of the match, it got a little exciting towards the end though. HHH with the win, who would have thought

Angle/Benoit Vs Edge/Mysterio - very cool match, the most enjoyble one of the night, heaps of counters and high flying moves, it went for a fair while as well. I wish I watched smackdown every week now just to see these tag teams

Victoria Vs Trish - not bad, not great, I still think Victoria should have won the title, but it is obvious this fued will be played out for a while longer yet

Lesnar Vs Taker - well, it was a bloodbath that's for sure. nothing spectacular happened though, no amazing flying falls from the top of the cell. neither of them even went to the roof of the cell during the match. I liked the clean win to Brock though, I wasn't expecting him to win cleanly. what were the holes in one of the cell walls for? anyone notice that? there were like 10 little holes...is that for when people climb up it or what?

I give this PPV a grade of C-
If it didn't have such a great smackdown tag match then I would have graded it much lower, it looks as if the WWE is wanting to save their effort for another time, possibly Survivor Series. let's hope they pull something as good as Summerslam next month then

The tag championship was a damn good match, I thought, although the outcome fuckin' sucked. The outcome on all of them sucked... bad guys win all the way.

But it was overall "eeeh", it could have been a helluvalot better.
