Can’t believe I’ve been visiting a Microdance forum for 20 years.

The main riff is pretty similar, c’mon. Anyway my bad, this is not the right thread for microdance critique, I reckon.

Cyr would be much more interesting if the lyrics weren't absolute garbage.

I bet in this sequel we're going to songs with titles like "Let's Go (To The Rock Show)"

1979 > 1999 > 2019

the timing couldn't be more than perfect.

So let me get this straight, it’s a sequel to MCIS and Machina somehow? So a double album sequel to two separate double albums with supposedly independent concepts? My brain hurts just thinking about it, not like this please Billy.

I guess I somehow missed that this was also a sequel to machina, I guess all the synths make sense now.

Whoever mentioned a crowdfunded effort to stop BC from diluting the catalog similar to the Weezer front knew what was up

Except Weezer are still really good. Even their bad albums have a handful of solid gold.Eg. their latest album: Numbers, Bird with a Broken Wing, La Bea Tar Pits

Were they ever really good? I mean, they always looked like the ultimate indie-gimmick band to me. Not bad but overhyped.

The blue album came one month after Cobain died. Weezer filled a vacuum being left behind. Grunge was dead/dying and indie/alternative rock had some shoes to fill.

(SP filled some of that vacuum as well, taking the top slot at Lollapalooza that summer which was originally Nirvana's..)

I think the finality to a trilogy (that was never going to be) is the bitter sweet indicator of exactly where SP9.0 is at today.

all strum&synths. We believe in you WPC.

Maladroit is a belter.

People like Pinkerton too.

The White Album is one of the best albums of the 2010’s.

Tbf, I wouldn’t trust the musical taste of anyone on a smashing pumpkins board in 2021.

The Red album is the only I like from start to finish. Pinkerton doesn't have a single good song. Everything after 2009 is Post Teargarden levels of bad.

this would be the only logical conclusion why Weezer is still so often mentioned on this board.

especially now that Fuzzy has been buried, jeez.

According to Billy, Machina was a continuation of the same concept he started with MCIS.

By the way, they are still working on song 4. Billy said on Instagram last Friday that things are slower than planned.

The songs definitely need more synths.
