Bring the Light sounds great with this mix. Sounds like top tier SP. It's got everything, dreamy bit, Jimmy on the toms, great harmony guitar solo, decent enough vocals. Only negative is the repetition of the title.

Whoa this is surprisingly excellent

Did you mess with the overall mix or just the vocals?

Stellar was really a fantastic track. Corgan should’ve gone in this direction and it should’ve been the lead single IMO

The one I noticed it most on is Stellar. Beautiful. That's the fucking way they should've gone, man. Fucking hell.

Takes some of the edge off his vocal. But it doesn't really change the record.

MSOTS is better. Better lyrics, better vocals... And it has Paz

Did you not do the title track (off the purple version) because you felt it was okay as is?

Pretty good. I would’ve gone a little lower with the vocals on some tracks. Also idk but this version is significantly quieter and not as bright as the cd version.

yeah if you don't like the songs this really won't do anything for you. it's really for those for whom the problem is that the vocals are a little loud!

i just did the silver version of the album. that particular song does nothing for me but since its acoustic anyway i think its probably fine.

I wouldn't say significantly quieter - it's the same volume, but there's a slight 1dB cut on the instrumental at around 2kHz to reduce harshness, with a 1dB boost at around 6-7kHz for brightness and also at around 300hZ for body. the OG is particularly bright and loud though so maybe these changes have had a notable effect, but the volume is same. I feel like if I went much lower with the volume on the vocals it just started to sound like they were getting lost - in terms of the vocals only being comprehendible if you already know them. to a fresh listener i felt it would sound like... 'wait why are those vocals so quiet?'

No way he's capable in of writing a song with the dynamics of Stellar in 2020

I got into SP just after Zeitgeist came out, so I had no preconceptions of the band and I LOVED this album. Granted I was on the younger half of my teenage years, but I would hazard a guess that most strictly-classic-era fans were too when they first heard their fav SP albums. Neverlost - Stellar - Ma Belle is one of the best sequences in an SP album imo.

Yes the EQing has really taken the sharpness off the guitars. Monuments could definitely do with this treatment. I think Shiny 1 is a lost cause though. I tried to do a similar job on Marchin' On but it didn't turn out as well.
