According to this, Albini and Corgan actually do get along.

Q: Oh man, do Albini and Corgan get along?
------------------------------------------

Yes, very much so. Billy is fairly celeb and reclusive, but they trade a lot of gear. For example, one of the Studer tape machines was bought from him, and we had his tech working a lot with us fixing stuff on the reg. Billy also lent him a few Digidesign A/D IO modules for something. Routinely Albini would hold poker night (billy never went) but the engineers all went.
Pretty surprising to me, considering Albini has criticized SP. But it's good Billy can apparently set that aside, at least in some cases.

Fair enough. I guess I was being a bit snobby.

I have lurked here for 15 plus years and every single that came out was more and more a depressing. He got his stupid special paint stolen/lost guitar back which had proved to be no inspiration. He touted the new big muff pumpkin pie...and puts out something that was basically done in garageband with a midi keyboard. I think he could still do it, but just doesnt out of spite..
This sounds nothing like TFE, not even remotely. Lazy comparison. That was a thousand times better than this.

Honestly I see quite a bit of similarity between the latest A Perfect Circle Album and Cyr. Maybe James contributed more than we think?

Oh, I forgot to post the link for the James Iha on bass one, can't be arsed to find it among the plethora of abysmal reviews.

This one is particularly savage! Even more so because the guy likes Shiny

" Corgan’s accompanying lyrics often read like someone fed an AI a stack of AD&D handbooks and the complete works of a sophomore poetry workshop. There’s a world where writing songs about paladins, name-checking characters in the Odyssey, and using words like “shalln’t” and “‘twixt” makes for compelling rock lyricism. Unfortunately, it’s not the one Corgan currently inhabits. Instead, listeners are left with a fantasy word salad where phrases like “mystic climes” and “seraphic bite” substitute for actual depth or meaning."

Thank you, consequenceofsound

Thank you so much

I’ve seen a lot of “wow tyger tyger WHAT a risk!” type comments where the person clearly hates it but is so sycophantic they have to try and find something positive about it.

Someone said it's worse than the new Pearl Jam. Now that is harsh.

I don't know, I actually had it on tonight while I was playing some video games with family and it was actually pretty fun to listen to. For whatever reason having it on in a social setting really helped

I still maintain as an 8-9 track album it would work. As a double album it’s way too much of the same thing and that brings down the overall rating quite a bit.

I'm a masochist, so I decided to give it a second spin. It sounded worse than the first. I don't think that has ever happened with an artist I'm a fan of before. Usually the subtle little melodies and more complex parts come out with each further listen - even on the albums I'm not a great fan of, a few of these will rear their heads.

On this one's first listen I thought to myself 'there's a nice bit, I look forward to hearing that again' only for it to have completely lost any appeal the second time round.

Edit: why do I keep quoting rather than commenting. Maybe I am a retard, like that cunt said earlier. Although, using that word as an insult is low.

Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness and Siamese Dream are still two of the rock albums ever made
