And yes it is a red herring, unless you are prepared to use recent polling data to demonstrate that Biden will benefit in states he needs to win (Florida, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan) by endorsing a healthcare policy which is nationally less popular, especially among moderate voters from those states who stayed home or voted for Trump in 2016, than the healthcare policy he already endorses. Because that was your argument. You literally said if Biden endorsed this less popular plan, he would be more likely to win. And then in defense you said have you been looking at recent polls. So please, enlighten us.

That’s a lot of words to deflect from the fact that you have no way to defend your own hypocrisy in demanding I vote for Biden and then telling me he doesn’t need my vote. Until you can explain that, I fail to see why I should take you seriously, as all you do is call me a liar when I haven’t lied about anything. Giving your opinion isn’t lying. Biden is down in Michigan and tied in Minnesota. Those are terrible signs. I’m not sure why you think Biden needs to court moderates when that strategy worked terribly for Hillary and I would wager that almost all moderates are already supporting Biden. Progressives are the ones who are hesitant to support him, which is why he should be supporting policies that bring them on board. If you have a voting bloc that might go for you and swing the election in your favor, you should go for it. The moderates aren’t going to suddenly vote for Trump if he supports Medicare for all, but that would get many progressives to suck it up and vote for him, which likely tips the election in his favor. As it stands today, it looks like Trump will win again, so if Biden is serious about winning, he should adopt a more progressive platform.

I suspect this is true. He’s never addressed my point of how people in the Middle East could potentially suffer MORE under Biden (and they’re certainly already suffering under Trump). He claims he’s given me reasons to vote for Biden, but they’ve all been some variation of “Trump is worse”.
