ďthere is nothing like making music with a group (and friends) who have signed a contract preventing me from mistreating them, that have conceded to indulge my every delusion, producing yet another clipped album of singing like an old lady with processed and butchered guitar and drums somewhere in the distance, because twenty years later I still canít admit netphoria were right."

My dad sings hymns in an old lady's quavering, high pitched voice. Sometimes he does this in public, which shames me incredibly.

I wish I was joking.

I didn't do a screen grab, but one of Billy's answers yesterday about level of vocals in a mix was about "how it's done in 2020" or words to that effect.

IOW, we can expect up front vocals on the new album. Which is now down to 19 songs apparently.

On the plus side, he said the drums won't have the same dry sound that they had on Vol 1.

NOBODY would complain if he didn't mix the vocals the way "it's done in 2020".

And NOBODY would complain if he didn't brickwall the new album.

Billy Corgan is making music for Billy Corgan. If he thinks big pop singers do things a certain way, then anything less would be admitting he wasn't a big pop singer. Plus he loves his vocals after the coaching, and he loves them up front and centre.

Netphoria is a bigger fan of the band Smashing Pumpkins than Billy is. Billy is a fan of Billy. He was happy to drop the name until it was clear his solo record would bomb - we've been in zombie pumpkinland longer than the original band were active. Remember he only brought back the original lineup cos he got himself “into a little financial trouble with wresslin’ haha”

He's still using William Patrick Corgan for his solo stuff tho. So you're wrong.

the next step in the process is to unveil the next 7 steps of the process, after which we will unveil that we are unveiling our plans for a release date (with the actual release date coming several posts later, maybe)

Next step is finding a new distribution label...

Corgan may think his Austrian record label didn't do enough at promoting the last Pumpkins record.
Is this also the reason his last solo project wasn't released by them...?

Inkless was the last time they did something like that, but not many people know this version of the song

Shiny rehearsal recordings would almost assuredly be better than the actual album

So, BMI website allows us to search their repertoire – I posted about this website a few years ago, there are a few unknown/alternative titles under Billy's profile –, I noticed they updated it recently with Cotillions stuff + a few unknown titles.

Not sure if new pumpkins songs or outtakes, but here they are:

Long Walk
Pleather
Orange and Black (Burnt Orange Black maybe?)
