the cool thing about meeting people at shows is you sort of are on the first date already
I don't make a habit of blindly getting phone numbers, but hell no I wouldn't call |

Several 4/20 fests happening here, complete with ads in the paper...makes me miss the quasi-illegal ones

Here to provide you all with a crystal ball view of the future
I went to visit a friend Ive known for nearly 30 years, 20 years ago we used to smoke weed and drink and smoke and drink coffee when we caught up. Today we ate hot cross buns and drank tea while her toddler grumped about with an ear infection. BEHOLD, YOUR FUTURE |

Frankly I'm amazed that hot cross buns are real and not just the subject of a song I hear more often than is comfortable

never been to a show where there isn't a ton of downtime before the act you came to see comes on I mean this assumes it's not like a seated stadium gig |

Have you....never eaten a hot cross bun????! I wish I could make some for you. But they often have dried fruit in them, which I gather is off putting for many people. Though they appear in more varieties now, like you can get them with chocolate chips instead.

I never have! Logically I knew they existed since there's that headache of a song about them, but I've never seen them for sale in the states, or hear about them ever being baked/eaten. I assumed they were a relic of the distant past. Now I feel compelled to bake these.

The so-called kiddies' hot cross buns are easily the best.
I don't see what's so mature about eating raisins, though, unless it somehow relates to the idea of coming to terms with a tragically imperfect world. |

Tell him I said "twins!"
I'm not that fond of raw onion either and will utilise the trick whereby you submerge the stuff very briefly in hot water ahead of its inclusion in a pico de gallo or whatever's demanded it. |

The version I sang growing up was C1-C2-F, C1-C2-F, C1-B-A-G-F-G-A-B-C1-C2-F
Where C1 is C above middle C, and C2 is middle C. I like raisins and dried fruit generally ok; dried muscatels I like a lot, dried figs and organic dried apricots are probably my favourite, though I like dried pear, apple, peach and banana too. Actually I like prunes, too. I pretty much like all dried fruit. But ordinary raisins and sultanas are not my favourite UNTIL they’re in bread or a pastry (“pan o rayzin” as the girls at the French patisseries like to say, here, or sometimes they’re called escargot) and suddenly I am the biggest fan ever. I love fruit mince pies, fruitcake, steamed pudding and hot cross buns. Full colonial brainwashing occurred during childhood and now what appears to be an abomination to many is a delicacy to me. Talofa lava. |
