brit marling made a pretty emotional post about it on instagram and netflix has a pattern of cancelling shows after season 2, so there's nothing i'm aware of that make me even consider it a publicity stunt

The only official word on the cancellation from Netflix, after Brit's that is, was very cryptic/suggestive of something more.

Furthermore, the same VP that strangely announced the cancellation of the show previously said they were committed to all 5 seasons.

Scott Willson may have suggested season 3 was happening. (this one is not confirmed as far as I can tell, but it might have some credibility)

This one is a bit looser, but it's obvious the show is important to a lot of people. It was number 1 trending on Twitter the other day with support from various celebrities. Are numbers actually a problem?

No one would have to cut all ties with their mother just because she believed The OA isn't canceled
