How do they consider TbK to be 2008-2017 anyway? I know Billy has alluded that Oceania was supposedly part of the overarching Teargarden project, whatever the fuck that was supposed to be, but this guy is including Monuments. wtf.

Who asks this nonsense?

I thought MTaE was part of TG? And Day 4 Night would be the end of it?

Crikey man, you don't actually believe any of Billy's nonsense do you?

It was clear that TbK was abandoned when he only managed to put out 2 songs off the third EP, which of course had no physical release. To cover the embarrassment of him abandoning this grandiose 44-song cycle he banged on about how Oceania counted as being part of the project. Did he say the same about Monuments? Wouldn't surprise me, but I'm calling bullshit all the same.

In reality TbK managed 12 songs out of 44 (included the 2 instrumental add-ons). Funny thing is, even if we take him at his word and add in the 2 albums that still only comes to 34 tracks.

Yeah yeah, I meant within the terms of what he had set out. Not what I actually believe. I don't listen to Oceania thinking "this is part of Teargarden". TG for me started with Song for a Son and ended with Owata. I like some of those songs.

Maybe D4N would've had 10 tracks to bring it to 44! Unless Shiny is secretly part of TG too! That still leaves 2 tracks to go!

The Shiny LP1 isn't so far from being an abandoned Day4Night.
Travels has the lyric "See day from night".
Solara was originally from 2012, reworked in 2014.

the well is dry folks.

It's taken 6 years of work on Solara to get this?

Who asks this nonsense?

Sad machine fans or some analaddicted gothchick.

He should stop with these cash grap reissues.
Honestly there wasn't a lot of "new stuff" that made my dick hard.
Who needed the adore acoustic demos when they were already on the net for the last 15 years?

Stop doing shitty reissues for sad machines and put your energy into writing good songs and mixing anew.

Guess billy is doing 4 different thing simultaniously. Wrestling, book, rehearsals, reissues, xmas crap, etc.

No wonder that the output is not what we were usedto from gish- machina2.

obviously I don't want a TGBK bonus disc, but for the most part the reissues are awesome

looks like Teagarden is the Machina for SP2 fans (Sad Machines) in the sense that it'd be just as much a "completion" of something that was never truly finished as it was a reissue of it

except this time, the record label isn't even remotely to blame

yeah, the movie bombed. It's kind of a weird flick, not surprising that it didn't have much mainstream appeal.

Not gonna lie, I'd be interested. I rather liked the Spirits In The Sky stuff. I really wish Teargarden was just something like that-- more a Billy Corgan solo album that sounded something like Bob Dylan's Desire album--rather than window-dressed as a faux Smashing Pumpkins album. The Spirits arrangements fit better with the bullshit hippy-dippy sunshine lyrics.

What a Teargarden set would be, would be more like the Backwards Clock Society stuff: just Corgan, Tulin and Kerry Brown, playing all 40-or-so songs as a stripped down three piece. That would also be better than what we actually got.
