it's fall so i'm going to have to put my bid in for baked acorn squash. cut in half, rub with oil, put a garlic clove or two in each pit, sprinkle with black pepper and then bake for 45-60 minutes

Roasted broccoli with salt, pepper and a post-roast drizzling of sesame oil also deserves a mention.

Roasted broccoli and cauliflower are both nice, but the smell they create in the roasting process is pretty extreme

For picky eaters, I cut them in half, sear them on the cut side, then finish in a marinade of soy sauce, garlic, honey, chili pepper flakes, etc

It's not the taste that I mind so much, I just can't seem to digest them well. But I can handle any other cabbage family member just fine, and love them all, even kale (mostly). Go figure.
