They look similar, but not exact, to mine. If they are in fact the same as mine, then the quality is decent. Worth buying while waiting for the real thing. I do have some problems with my "Jedi" disc, but thats ok because I never watch the special edition of it.

Question

are there original widescreen OT DVDs? Cuz if I want the SE's on DVD, I'll just wait till Lucasfilm releases them.

Truthfully, my original OT ones are in fullscreen VHS so I barely ever watch them but I watch my SE VHS's alot mainly cuz they're widescreen.

And for the record, aside from Greedo shooting first in ANH, Luke's digital scream in ESB and that Godforsaken dance number in ROTJ, I actually like the SE alterations.

the dance scene in Jedi is one of the most horrific things I've ever seen. I'm glad that Empire was left virtually untouched. But god jesus christ hell that dance scene....and i'm not sure about that new sequence at the end. The Saddam-esque toppling of the emperor statue is kinda cool, but it cuts out part of the original scene. I know when Lucas finally releases them on DVD its gonna be special edition only, and that sucks.

Nothing is cut out of ROTJ, those scenes of celebration are just added right after Luke burns Vader and it shows the fireworks. The only thing that was lost was the original "Yub Yub!!" music, but I like the SE music better cuz its not as lame. I mean, Geez, listen to the original ending music of ROTJ -- it sounds like they're singing "Celebrate the love" for crissakes. I think the SE of ESB was great cuz the changes were subtle but they really added to an already great flick.

ah yes you are correct on that. I do miss the "yub yub" music though.

BTW, I didn't know where to post this so I put it here.

Remember the Star Wars kid from a month ago or so? Yeah, uh. He went nuts:

http://www.theforce.net/holonet/index.shtml#21537

The four students who allegedly put the video on the Internet are facing a $250,000 lawsuit. It claims Raza has suffered "harassment," "ridicule" and "persecution" at school and in the public at large.

Raza ended up leaving high school and finishing his year in the psychiatric wing of a local hospital.

An employee of Raza's old school says the pressure on the young man was intolerable.

"When 500 people laugh at you every noon when you walk into the cafeteria, it can't be easy," says Rafael Jacob.

And in cyberspace it's not easy keeping a low profile once you get linked to Star Wars.

"Star Wars is one of the biggest virtual communities. There are millions of fans. So take this kid, put it together with Star Wars and bingo, it's a hit," says Internet consultant Francois Charron.

hey that kid got a new ipod out of the deal. i highly doubt he went into a psychiatric wing. that video probably propelled him to new heights of popularity. who wouldn't want the star wars kid at their party
