So last night, as a favor for my friend Tim, I go to this seminar for some company that does fuck knows what on the internet. I can't believe anybody stood still for this B.S., but the keynote shiller...er, speaker, really sold his "business" well. He explained why the internet is the way to do business these days, and why the website he works for serves as an excellent forum for business-to-person relations, and, people, why spend SO much on advertisements, when all you have to do is go from person to person!

Seriously. It was all gibberish. I don't even know what this "company" does. All I know is that if you invest $100+ dollars, and then find other suckers, you'll gradually make more money for every level your underlings subsequently create.

My two friends Tim and Dave are gung-ho about this whole deal. They HONESTLY believe that they'll be set for life in 5 years. They refuse to listen to me when I tell them it's a bad idea and how it's illegal, calling me 'ignorant' and 'close-minded' in the process.

Seriously...can pyramid schemes be that great? Should I take all that the guy says at face value, just like my two friends have?

Or is my cynicism warranted?
