In fairness, it would've been a LOT different had D'arcy even moonlighted with other bands over the 19 years...there was no evidence to suggest she could even play, never mind be match fit for 30 three-hour shows.

They got the reunion the wrong way around though. Billy wanted to do the tour and fit the band around that, rather than the other way around.

They should've met up first, see if they could still function together, and then have some informal jams, maybe work up a short set, then go do some club gigs / surprise sets in small venues. The public and press would've gone crazy for that. They could've recorded a few new songs too, to keep the interest levels up.

Following all that good will, they could've booked a big headlining tour and gone global. That would've been the best way to do it.

But they went BIG TOUR first, as they clearly needed the money.

I wish Jimmy or James would comment on this, rather than more comments from Billy on their reactions to it. To his credit, I mostly believe Billy here in terms of what Jimmy said because it sounds like a pretty level-headed reaction and Jimmy (heroin aside) has always come off like a pretty rational, hard-working guy who is really all about the music. But I still wish we’d hear from him or James occasionally rather than Billy doing his usual thing of spinning the narrative in his favor.
