i hated it to begin with as well, and the first city is way too cluttered looking and drove me nuts. I started playing this game probably 4 other times and only got like half an hour into it either time... but now that i got passed that, I am loving it.

but hey, if you don't like it, you don't like it.

and dude, if you think that music sucks, wait till you get further into it and one of the characters sings.. i wanted to cry.

Also, if you want to appritiate rpgs on a deeper level, play Paladins quest, dragon warrior 2, and Pen & paper rpgs

Final Fantasy Legend

same as me, but not 10

I couldn't sit through it, it was horrid.

Shining force was alright, but one of the best most malible rpgs was Legend of mana(sd4 i believe)

FFVI might have the best videogame music of all time. Chrono Trigger is close, but nothing's better than the FFVI opera scene and the Magitek factory, not to mention the end boss theme.

i managed it, but due to the combat system, all the fights were needlessly arduous. I think it's the only FF game that i wasn't satisfied with when I completed it.. The music isn't bad though.

and hulio, you should stick with ff3 until the story picks up, it's most definitely the best FF game.

I personally loved 10. My only real complaints are that is was a little too easy, and Tidus was a bit...queer. The graphics, story and music were top-notch.

X-2 looks great, and so does Crystal Chronicle, even though CC isn't gonna have any FMVs

yeah, basically squaresoft thought that making certain characters more efficient at dealing with certain types of creatures would add a new level.. but instead it turns battles into a mere matching game (like you said, oh it's flying.. bring in wakka), and this monotony doesn't change throughout the whole game even though it's the game's main component.

compare that with ff3 which allows you the freedom to use a wide range of different characters, weapon types and techniques.

Add the fact that the voice acting and story is nothing spectacular, and you’ve got one of the worst games in the series.
(the graphics and music are very good, but that doesn't hold much weight with me)

one of the game stores around here has several copies. the system would be around $25 and the game would be $10.
