My theory about usernames (do you agree?).

My theory is that internet usernames function as sort of the way the exterior body of a person functions. That you judge people on the way they look because it's the only thing you have to go by. A first impression, if you will. Same thing with internet usernames. At least for me, I judge people by their internet names because that's the only thing I know about them at first. But you know, like looks, as I get to know them longer, I base my opinion on them on their personality, characteristics and such.

Because what would I "know" about them based on a username or the way they look?

Yes, you're correct. It is an observation, but the word theory came to mind so I used it.
