Yeah that ghost in the shell movie is prob gonna be awful.

I did enjoy the visual style from what i've seen in the trailers though.

It also has probably the best pacing of any horror movie/sci-fi/thriller/whatever. Not an ounce of fat on that movie.

Yup. And I guarantee folks are gonna lap it the fuck up. Which is a shame, because the first movie holds up just fine by today's standards. So, just fucking watch that one again instead of trying to make it happen again!

I get it though. Now that Star Wars is back in full force, cramming movie after movie and endless merchandise up our ass, the studios are going to take their properties and do their very best to work that same magic.

Get Out is making mad bank though, so there's still hope for original ideas.

Dark City is the best Matrix movie that isn't The Matrix.

Point is, no future Matrix movie will be as potent as the first one was when it came out in 1999. You can't recapture that lightning in a bottle, so don't even fucking try.

Like, even if you hated the movie, anything they make next, you're just gonna hate even more. No way they'll improve upon ANYTHING.

I will half-heartedly defend The Matrix sequels, though.

Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions are bad films.

But I enjoy them still.

i think the wachowskis are like, bad, basically. all their movies are bad, their series is bad, they've always been bad & the matrix was bad but "new" to americans even tho it was basically a quasi philosophical pot boiler on the level of a 3rd rate anime & shot like one crossed with John Woo and a new 360 pause frame gimmick to fuck around with

i have never liked the matrix & i have suffered for it

Yeah, I remember watching it thinking if I were 10 years old, it would be the best thing ever. It's well done for what it is. I also remember finding Susan Sarandon oddly arousing in it for some reason.

Everything they've done since has been hot garbage from my POV. But Bound is my shit.

V for Vendetta sooo wants to look and feel important, but all it did was inspire a bunch of douchebags to wear Guy Fawkes masks.

Yeah.. I thought one of the stories in Cloud Atlas was interesting, but the whole thing was a bloated, boring mess.
