i don't know. moogles would be cooler because they're so cute. and we already have too many women around. so i think that would be gayer. heh, i want a pet moogle.

You'd need a bachelors in science in something. If you got a BA, you'll have to go back and take a bunch more classes (if you've even graduated - I'm not sure what your situation is).
You have to take a bunch of shitty classes like Biochemistry, Physics, physiology, anatomy, organic chemistry.

Also, most places won't look at your application unless you've had over a certain number of hours working in a clinic, or volunteering as either a kennel assistant, vet tech, or other type job.
GPA is supposedly the key. If you have below a 3.0 there's no chance in hell. if you have a 3.5 or above, you're practically in. UC Davis is the only vet school in california (there might actually be a private vet school there now), and supposedly its pretty tough to get in. You have the best chance of getting into a school in your own state.
If you're rich, you can go live on St. Kitts and go to Ross University. 5 years will cost you $125k, but they take people with ~3.0 GPAs...

I haven't gotten in yet after applying twice. My grades aren't what they'd like currently (3.1 ), so i' mgoing to either do grad school first in vet microbiology and pathology, or maybe think about something else for a career.

hm. well I have the GPA. I don't have the science. And I don't have the experience.

but I can get the science.. and the experience...

and I just looked at costs at Davis... *sigh* ... the money will be another problem...

The science is what hurts the GPA

I'm pretty confident about my science skills... but yeah...

It says in the admission thing for davis, that it doesn't matter what you have a degree in, as long as you have the required science courses taken care of.. so perhapse I'll finish up here with teaching, and during that time accumulate hours with vet experience, and take one science class a semester..

hm. sorry, thinking.

i need to sit down and read this booklet i just printed...

what school are you at?

Also, it would be wise to go into a vet clinic and job shadow for a day if nothing else. if you find out you don't like looking at big pus filled wounds, or seeing perfectly good animals euthanized it may not be tyhe career for you...

i worked front desk @ a veterinary clinic...and eventually sort of became an un-certified vets assistant. it was a ghetto-ass clinic.

not a week went by without some sort of trouble w/ a customer, they could never accept that just like a human hospital....surgery & prescriptions for pets are expensive as well.
