when I was a kid I had a goal to collect every star wars action figure and micro machine space ship and shit

but that shit doesn't make you happy and is costly af. I try to avoid hoarding anything material these days. I still have all those star wars toys and a ton of video games but I don't consider them like collections or anything.

all I have now are my collection of sexual escapades and failed relationships

Fuck dude, ever since your post with all the photos and the write-up on Japan I've been making it a goal to go out there sooner than later. Maybe If I do we can meet up and the drinks are on me

But that's dope man, I never see Simpsons hand-towels or Yoshi stuffy's out here anymore.

And yeah, everyone knows Yoshi. Though you have it wrong my friend. Yoshi isn't Mario's dragon, it's his dinosaur .

Probably your Hebrew language bitin' you in the ass again

I tried to buy a Rey action figure but they didn't have those at the store, they had 6 billion Luke Skywalker ones.

I love this rug. I bought it from a woman that lives in town. She had it on her wall for like 40 years

There was actually a whole controversy about this last year.

Yes, I remember that. It was pretty awful.

I also saw a kid throw a hissy fit to his mom that he didn't want the Rey action figure because he "doesn't like dolls"

Society is so cool.

dinosaur and dragon are two discernible words in hebrew that are very close to their english counterparts (phonetically: drakon and dinozaur).

can't blame this on language, i'm just dumb unfortunately.

Yes. It is. So much so that I've hidden it in the closet. Kinda digging all the hardwood floor anyway

All my dvds are in a box in the garage. I should sort through them and sell the ones I have no use for anymore.

I have way too many dvds, many still in the shrinkwrap and I have no idea where a ton of those films came from.

buying shit when you're feeling low is definitely a thing
if it becomes a habit, then you're a "collector" (sounds better)

I did that too. I still have a good chunk of the collection on two book shelves (I enjoy having a more curated collection on display) but for a lot of my TV shows on DVD, sticking them in a binder was the only way to go. I mean, do I really need all 9 seasons of Roseanne filling up a shelf? Similarly, I don't need the American Pie movies or the Amityville sequels taking up space, but I don't necessarily want to get rid of them completely.

I do wonder what the garbage trucks thought when they picked up three recycling bins and found nothing but gutted DVD cases that summer.

I got a Chucky doll that totally creeps me out.

He has a sensor that reacts to motion or light, so if I turn off the lights or walk in front of it, he'll spring to life saying something horrible.

I keep it with no batteries and in a spot where I can't see it from my bed. For safety.
