My point is the song writings generic and lazy as fuck. It's nothing that some guy with run of the mill talent couldn't write. Sorry RBG, that's just the truth buddy.

oh really why don't you show us some of the many songs you have written in your 20 years since any random schmuck with a guitar can obviously do just as well as this extremely well practiced and precise band of classically trained musicians

I would say the first two are solid gold front to back. Suburbs is definitely different, more nuanced, less arena rock, but there are also moments that feel superfluous. Still a very good album though.

If all of Reflektor was as good as the second half, it might be as hard-hitting as Funeral and Neon Bible. But there's some nonsense on it, weirdly all weighted towards the front of the record.

The Suburbs is kind of a weak song from an otherwise great album. Not sure what style you'd go for, but Month of May, Rococo, Ready To Start, Sprawl II...all better representations of the album.

ha I never made the Bowie connection. I couldn't have, I know maybe 3 Bowie songs, never fully warmed up to Arcade Fire.

But I love boring music (I mean Sigur Ros duh) so I found a couple AF songs I like.
Or did like, my Arcade Fire phase was pretty short, half a year later I had forgotten everything including song titles.

But my library says I love some songs
- Rebellion (Lies)
- Une année sans lumière

and apparently I had "Wake Up" as alarm song at some point, because listened to that one 18 times.
