Red face

ok i just fell into a rabbit hole

did you guys know that a bite by a "bullet ant" is ranked at the #1 place on the Schmidt pain index, and is described as the worst pain a human being is capable of experiencing?

they are used for ceremonial purposes by a tribe in the Amazonas. members need to be purposely stung on 20 different occasions to be considered a real man. here is a western guy taking it only once, for far less time than what is considered standard practice for the tribe:

did you guys know there is a creature on this earth called a Tarantula Hawk, and it is essentially a fucking giant, terrifying wasp that hunts tarantulas?

i'm not even gonna post a photo, cause that shit would give me nightmares if it caught me off guard

Holy shit it's the state insect (wtf ) of New Mexico. I've been there, and my parents lived there for three years. Good thing I didn't see one or I would have jumped right off the Sandia's.

For me the most terrifying animal is the giant squid, I'd rather deal with a shark or a bee or anything! Although the likelihood of me ever encountering one is almost zero.

I'm absolutely terrified of wasps, bees, spiders.

Giant squid does sound super gross, tho if you can kill said squid the squid rings you'd get out of it would be choice.

I find sharks cute.

But fur real, hardcore Sonic fans are the fucking creepiest. And I say that as someone who played the first four Sonic games on the Genesis enough in the '90s that I could probably still finish them without really trying too hard.

It's all about Doctor Robotnicks MEAN BEAN MACHINE. I recently played the game to death on my little hand-held. So fucking fun. Was one of very few games that I've actually beat in my life!

On an unrelated note: Sonics had a very successful run in the Archie comics digest format. Anyone ever read those?

Yeah, that game was good, mindless fun. I have it on one of the Sonic compilations for Gamecube. Played it to death. Kind of a Tetris knockoff, but still.
