Gabriel vs. Collins. I'm talking about solo careers here.

Gabriel

I was a bit too young at the time to get deeply involved in an argument about the two. However I remember liking Gabriel moreso than Collins. This probably had more to do with the crazy music videos he used to do than anything else. So there you have it.

Commercial or Critical?

Commercial - Buster.

Critical - Gabriel.

And since money makes the world go round, I'll have to say Collins.

Yeah.

Did Collins actually do anything worthwhile during his solo career?

The sight of Phil Collins bopping his head to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will stay in my memory forever.

Well, I hated both of their solo stuff because it was plenty of awful.

Going by record sales, obviously Collins wins by, oh, a few million records, and by a few I mean about 30-40 million.
