538 – The Polls Aren't Skewed: Trump Really Is Losing Badly

f any of this sounds familiar — and if I sound a little exasperated — it’s probably because we went through this four years ago. Remember UnSkewedPolls.com? (The website is defunct, but you can view an archived picture of it here.) The main contention of that site and others like it was that the polls had too many Democratic respondents in their samples. Dean Chambers, who ran the site, regularly wrote that the polls were vastly undercounting independents and should have used a higher proportion of Republicans in their samples. But in the end, the polls underestimated President Obama’s margin...

In before whatever inane thing fuzzy has to say: Go back and read my posts from weeks and months ago. I've been saying the whole time, and so has everyone else, that around now is when the polls start to indicate what might actually happen on election day. And Trump looks royally fucked.

He's made comments like this before. On Twitter he regularly calls people out that he suggests should be beaten, attacked, etc. At his rallies he tells his supporters to physically assault anti Trump protestors.

I think you're misunderstanding what Trump initially said. He wasn't talking about banning American Muslims. He was simply proposing a temporary ban on Muslims from high-terrorist breeding grounds. I personally don't agree with it, but if you haven't noticed that there's been a disturbing influx of terrorism going on constantly right now then I don't know what to tell you... Might not be the worst idea to not take any chances for a little while until they figure out what the hells going on...

... But hey that's just a super small piece of a lot of the good ideas that Trumps proposed... So it's not really a deal breaker for me or anything.

The Senate is constitutionally rigged. The current Senate "Majority" represents just over 40% of voters.

The House, which is governed by a "majority" that represents less than half of votes cast in the last election. Because so many states are radically gerrymandered.

the truth, as scotty alludes to, is that America has become a steadfastly liberal country. It took 6 fucking decades but eventually the backlash started to catch up with the deeply conservative post-war "consensus."

I've said it many times, but the increasing insanity, open racism and social divisiveness we've seen from first the tea party and now the trumpers over the last 8 years is not a sign of a majority coalition... it is indicative of the shrinking demographic umbrella of post-war conservatism. It is indicative of a team that knows it is losing. If Trump loses, watch for the next wave of old-guard conservatism to be even crazier, and even nastier, more openly racist and hateful of a society that has rejected their values. It will also be weaker.

If we fixed the rampant gerrymandering and did away with the EC, suddenly it would become very, very apparent that this country has become liberal through and through

Texas would go blue so fast the GOP would have a full meltdown of they changed the laws
