This test tries to guess your political ideology through questions that have nothing to do with political matters.

I want to let people take it before I post my results, because I want people to go in "fresh" without being privy to what the test is correlating (although I'm sure some of you like RBG or reprise already know what's up, and even if you don't, you'll probably figure it out part way through).

i guess

i said i was slightly disgusted by a person eating an apple with a fork. i meant disgusted by the person, not the act. i also would eat chocolate shaped like doodoo. it's only shaped like doodoo! and if i were hungry, i would totally eat my favorite soup that had been stirred with a used, but clean flyswatter

i agree with all of these, except the apple i put no disgust. but ketchup on ice cream? gross. i also have no problem with a hand in a jar.

I'm pretty sure this works by attempting to measure your natural inclination towards feelings of fear and repulsion, especially in scenarios where you are basically guaranteed no harm or the thing in question has nothing to do with you/is none of your business. Psychologically, there is probably a strong argument that these tendencies are more common in conservative people, whose views (socially) are shaped more by negative, survivalist emotions.

It's worth noting that even where I clicked that things would bother me, I felt aware that these emotions are illogical. I think there was only one where I felt it was unfair because it was something where getting upset or feeling grossed out was legit and not a misguided evolutionary response. The ones about touching dead things also made me stop and think, because most of these play on state-of-nature fears like pests or illness or ingroup/outgroup nonsense. Touching a human body or picking up the dead cat is not something that bothers me out of disgust so much (as the test says) but because I am kind of afraid. I know it's equally as nonsensical, but the fear of touching a dead body is probably more a product of the modern West where death has been removed from "life" and exists in designated spaces away from the world, like hospitals.

The monkey one was also hard for me... I clicked neutral because I felt like the test was measuring fear or disgust. My problem with eating a monkey is the intelligence and emotional complexity of the animal, not a rejection of weird food, but if I was starving I would probably eat the monkey so

I got 53/47 convservative. It's hard to distinguish between slightly giving a fuck, moderately giving a fuck, and really giving a fuck in these hypothetical situations. I've always had problems with quizzes like this. It should be a hard-line yes, no, idgaf 3-tier response.

I can understand your question but it wouldn't make sense to list the losing result.

I'm not heavily into sports but results are often listed as, for example, "the final score 3-1 Rangers" which would mean that the Rangers won the game.

what a dumb 'question'. it seems whatever they're trying to measure would be affected if the person avoided walking through a graveyard out of respect or fear of ghosts/the dark.\

i know how sports scores can be said, which is why i asked - for clarification for myself. and i know you don't like sports.

it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume you listed the number after the respective result, implying the other.
