Sweet. The comic book any good? I used to love the show when it debuted.

If you're a big fan I'd recommend checking out the trading card series. Really nice collection.

Dude apparently could pretty much do all the tricks with one.

I think as an adult it's good to keep up with hobbies and stuff like that.

i agree that hobbies are important as you get older- just as they are when you're young. but in my limited experience as an adult, moving beyond your comfort-zone is key, too. it's fun to try things you've always wanted to- anxiety be damned- and get better at the things you actually enjoy spending time doing regardless of how others may want to condescend or laugh at you.

Absolutely. The more you sink your teeth into the better the state of mind. Even as silly or as unimportant as the hobbies are. If you don't have any interests to wrap your mind around then you're pretty much a lost cause... Even if it's by spending 2.50 and having a little entertainment, learning and focus with a yo-yo

No way? that actually does sound pretty solid. Maybe I'll check some out.

I didn't mean to shit on the later seasons and belittle your interest. I don't know if it was so much that the show got stale as much of it was just me getting into other things.

The main 3 cast are fucking awesome though. Giles kinda sucks though. Too stereotypical of a roll. Xanders the bomb

A lot of people feel that Buffy was better in the beginning, but I kind of think the opposite for the most part. As the show matured, it shed some of its 90s teen drama pastiche formula and became a bit more serious and dynamic in terms of its storytelling, character evolution, and treatment of social issues. All Buffy is good, but the show grows up with the characters.

I think your criticism of Giles is funny because basically all the characters on the show begin as stereotypes/archetypes which are then broken down and thrown in the audience's face. That people are complicated, many-layered, and seldom match our first impressions is one of Joss Whedon's favorite tropes. I also found Xander to be supremely annoying and immature until like the third season... but by the end of the show he is like the most heroic dude.

That's true I guess, but I think characters like Buffy and Willlow were a lot more creative than the stereotypical wise book-worm British mentor. Xander was like the perfect representation of the 90's teen, kind of in the vain (sp?) of those guys from Clerks.

What season did Seth Green become a central character? I might be wrong, but I kinda remember that's when I started to lose interest.

I still can't get over what a great deal 2.50 for a wooden official Yo-yo is. It is in the "Slick" series (slightly smaller than the regulation size) but god damn. Dollerama kicks ass. My string on it just broke yesterday though. And if that old-man is right, new strings won't be cheap. I'll probably just buy another one, but I wouldn't doubt if they're out of them by now.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. Giles' character is delved into in other ways, especially his relationship with Buffy

Seth Green became a regular on show in the early/mid 2nd season and left around the beginning of the 4th.

Even in the earliest of chapters, Gangopadhyay touches upon the idea of supplanting one's entire persona with an overt subscription to any arbitrary interest that could conceivably act as a beacon to the similarly lost while shielding one from the risks associated with independent thinking.

I already decided a long time ago that the album art for my first album will be self help books related

front cover will just be a picture of the self help section at a bookstore

self-help books gets a bad rap because lots of people feel too cool for them. that's not to say there aren't cheesy junk books out there, but the same can be said of any genre.

I don't mean to deride the genre at all. I am legit passionate about the many various Systems n Key Words upon which folks will try to order a life....it'd be rad to synthesize them all into a universal theory of What Helps, or somthng
