Sorry, but I've been hip to the leaks and rumors since day one and Disney was up front from the beginning that this would be a heist film with new characters and not a standalone film about an existing OT character

Supposedly reshoots and heavy editing of Ep7 occurred up until a month before the film was released. This isn't unusual.
Supposedly they're worried the tone isn't right. Meaning they're trying to add some levity to the story. Not sure how you do that with a story of a suicide mission that leads literally to the moments just before ANH |

Yes reshoots have been standard practice for a while now. But the rumor is that the studio was not happy with the cut the director presented and the reshoots in fact are supposed to change bits of the story because the movie isn't "testing well".

Reshoots are not a sign that a films first cut is 'bad'. Not anymore than a heavy edit does. What matters is whats in the final cut
