You mean I shouldn't believe Trump when he says he'll penalize corporations for dodging taxes

Bernie's tone has changed and I think its more than just his sweep this weekend, but that he knows the hammer is about to drop on Hillary. His atypical hubris about the superdelegates needing to change over to his side is telling. Clinton has become too much of a liability, and TPTB don't want things to self destruct while shes posing as their Puppet-In-Chief.
She's in not only a very weak compromised and vulnerable position right now - with immunity granted to a key individual in the investigation - but all eyes are on this and esp on Bernie. I go back and forth on an impending indictment; today it seems inevitable now. Whatever crimes of her past that she's gotten away with, doesn't compare to the stakes of a presidential election. It's possible of not plausible she's being implicitly and explicitly blackmailed to shut her trap and go quietly. Today the Clinton's told Sanders to change the tone of his campaign if he wants a N.Y. debate. Chuck Grassley chimed in to say they need to change their tone because the FBI is going to question Hillary. ![]() |

Poots has really grown on me. He was the first netphorian to tell me "fuck you" (after my first post, no less) so that counts for a lot. My favorite Poots posts are those that posit a fly-on-the-wall perspective of a funny conversation. The one about Jeff making sandwiches for bill, for example, is an all time fave

You mean like this? Which is why she needed this: And then, inevitably, she needed that "Foundation" of hers to backtrack and do this: NEW YORK, Nov 16 (Reuters) - The Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation and an associated charity refiled tax returns for six years with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service to amend their reporting of donations from foreign governments and other errors, the charities said on Monday. Lots of maneuvering going on and all of it dubious. This short synopsis of the allegation that Hillary is a Superspy is easy to see as true, but only if you can read a little bit between the lines, like from this news that hit yesterday: Second judge grants discovery in Clinton email lawsuit Quote:
Granted, Judicial Watch has been a thorn in the Clinton's side before and politically speaking can be brushed aside. BUT, things are different with this case, as proven here: Quote:
Exceedingly rare, yes. But granted in this case. Fascinating. And lastly, Judicial Watch is one thing, the FBI is another: FBI Reveals New Details About Its Probe Into Hillary Clinton's Use of Private Email Server Quote:
Maybe the FBI will talk to her, be satisfied to some measure she's exonerable, and move on. However, that seems less likely now if indeed there was a SAP compromise. SAP is the network outside of the regular internet that the gov and military use for the most sensitive of information. Those 22 emails withheld from the public are thought to be of the SAP variety. There's also rumours of a rogue grand jury because the DOJ is doing its level best to thwart the investigation. Nothing short of fascinating all this. It's coming to a head soon, well before the election and likely before the Democratic convention. Last edited by The Omega Concern : 03-30-2016 at 06:47 PM. |

I've been going through Hillary's voting record on stuff and it's really disappointing
This is not a real liberal make no mistake. But Trump has the potential to do some serious harm and it's pretty gross that Bernie or Bust people are just okay with potentially inflicting huge amounts of suffering just because they didn't get the candidate they wanted As long as you aren't in a swing state yeah sure go ahead and write in the Green Party candidate though |

Trump said something along the lines of this during his campaign speech in Wisconsin today: "People have a problem with me cause of my personality... But you must realize that I'm funding my whole campaign, I'm doing it for the people... People have a problem with my personality, but if you actually knew: I'm a much better person than all of the other people running right now... that I can tell you" It's no secret that Clintons a super-pac puppet. I don't think people give Trump enough credit for actually successfully running without any special interest backing... That's a huge accomplishment |

Hilary is not a bad person really, I don't buy that narrative
She is a middle of the road pragmatic politician. I just don't see her as being a real leftist given her voting record. And on social issues she only ever adapts to the public Trump is legitimately a bad person with legitimately terrible ideas |

A leftist? maybe not, but I don't really buy that these words are meaningful in some kind of de-contextualized, abstract sense where they just get compared to our moral ideals. Clinton's voting record in the Senate lands her in the most liberal 25% of senators. America has been a deeply conservative country for decades and we are just now swinging back. Is Bernie a better liberal, IMO yes obviously, but is Clinton conservative? Not at all, not by any standards that take into account the actual field of American politics
Elphenor, you hit the nail on the head when you said she would adapt to whatever the mainstream thinks on social issues, but apply that to everything. She is an establishment populist. She will sit wherever she judges the center of mainstream liberal America to be, which is exactly why Bernie remains so important even if he can't win. He makes her a stronger, better, smarter candidate and he brings her more in touch with millennial liberalism which she doesn't get. |

Well Democrats are conservatives except for those on the fringe ie Bernie
I think a lot of us thought Obama was going to be an actual liberal in American politics, we didn't have a voting record for him. |

I think we have to look at what it means to be on the left in other countries and pull a general meaning from that
In this country we have Neoliberals and then whatever the fuck Republicans are now |
