I've been surprised by "The Expanse" on SciFi. It's their best television series since Battlestar Galactica.

actually i recently watched a couple scenes from the x-files heydey on youtube, and realized for the billionth time how long gone my innocence and naivety is.

when the cancer man would appear i used to go all "holy shit! look at this guy, he's mysterious as fuck! all swaggerin and shit, smokin' cigs, puppeteering everyone OMG HE'S SITTING THERE IN THE CORNER" and now it was like "well it's just some guy who smokes cigarettes onscreen". also i found myself criticizing the actors. this isn't gonna work i mean

The workaholics boys speak to me on so many levels. I fill my days the same way, unashamed.

Not airing at the moment but everyone should check out The Knick. One of the best shows of the past few years, IMO (and criminally underrated)

my expectations are not high, but who knows. I heard the movie from ~6 years ago was pretty bad but I never saw it. I rewatched the first few seasons a few years ago and it's very "90s," like it screams being from a different cultural time period. I still loved it though, and unlike a franchise like Star Wars, I don't think the creators are expecting to bring in many new fans. This is a total nostalgia trip. Buuuuut it could be good if Chris Carter understands this only got the green light because of the demand by gen exxers and 90s kids to see these characters on screen again.

update: LOL at Joel Mchale playing The Omega Concern

I've been hearing a lot of hype for that new Showtime series Billions. I watched the first episode and thought it was alright, but it didn't really get me stoked for the next episode or to start following the series or anything. What'd you guys think of it?

So the new X-Files is... well it surprisingly manages to "feel" exactly like the old series, which is something. In the first two episodes it did absolutely nothing new, but really I think everyone watching this is in it to see the characters come to life again, and in that it's a big success so far. Chris Carter seems to really be pushing the evil government angle over the supernatural and even had Skinner reference how 9/11 changed everything and made people docile and allowed the government to grow even larger and more evil... and Carter totally believes 9/11 is why the X-Files got cancelled IRL, I kind of saw it is a reference to that. Also David Duchovney had a line in tonight's episode that referenced a line he had in Zoolander.

Wow. X Files didn't miss a beat. Weather manipulation, fema camps, element 115, economic collapse, false flags, NDAA, patriot act, militarization of police, GMOs, pharmaceuticals, spying, bank runs, EMP/Grid down, terrorist attacks, alien invasion hoax... did I miss anything? Thanks Joel Mc Hale. Not only am I stressed out, I'm paranoid as hell now. Damn.. I should have stuck with Downton Abbey.

I'm not sure what to make of the new x-files
it was a little thick with the conspiracy theory rhetoric

I have been watching the hit HBO television program The Wire. Season 1 was pretty amazing. Season 2 is less so, but starting to gain momentum.

Felt the same initially but Season 2 is possibly my favorite in retrospect. Although 4 is hard to beat

just watched the first episode of "11-22-1963" on Hulu. I was unfamiliar with the Steven King story it's based on so no preconceptions. It was tense, engaging and entertaining.

If you hate James Franco you'll hate this because it's basically James Franco in every single scene playing his best James Franco

Just binged vikings (history channel). Went in expecting straight garbage but great actors, sets, "kinda sorta" takes on real events

8/10 would buy from them again
