My intention isn't to go #notallmen here, but it's worth pointing out that there's nothing intrinsically male about toxic masculinity. Speak for yourself when you say that "this is just how men talk" - you may well be right that most men talk and act like this, and really, I have no interest in catering to the minority who doesn't just to spare their feelings. Just don't pretend this sort of behavior is immutable and inevitable. This "boys will be boys" bullshit has to stop.

This isn't so much about "what you really mean" as it is about you choosing to align yourself with a deeply sexist culture. Even if you believe that language doesn't matter, that our manner of speaking about women has no effect on the way we see women and the way women see themselves, you are basically coming here and waving a "I AM A SEXIST ASSHOLE WHO WON'T EVEN TRY TO PRETEND HE ISN'T ONE" flag. Don't expect to be treated kindly.

I for one would like to think that he first groaned out "and in the eyes of a jackal..." as he mounted to climax and then finished with a grand "KABOOM" as he ejaculated in saturnine splendor!

As for objectification, it can be bad, but it can be good in that it gives what is needed to fulfill certain needs. Like fucking. I mean, I don't want to discredit love-making, that's great in its own way, but for men and women, a lot of time your body and mind needs that base, primitive element to get it done. Plus, it's healthy in its right place. And I don't mean objectification over-taking human elements, but just serving a specific purpose.

Men and women who want to look attractive and go to efforts to do so, that is some mild form of objectification, it's saying "Look at me, I am "x". If it was all about personality, nobody would ever try to look good. And that would suck. Women wouldn't show skin or put on make up, and men wouldn't, well, do whatever they do.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by your "personal world," but I do understand that prejudice can act on an individual level as well as a systemic level, i.e. there are men, white people, and members of other systemically dominant groups who have been hurt by discrimination or oppression in some way. However, on a macro level, I think it's evident that we live in a male supremacy politically, economically, and socially, and that virtually every society in history lines up with that. Western culture in general might be relatively less sexist than most other cultures in history, but 200 years of feminism can't equalize the sexes after thousands of years of women playing second class humans. Systemically, there is no matriarchy. In before comment about care professions or domesticity being controlled by women: this is bullshit, men control these things as well, and socially relegate these roles to women because they are seen as weak.

I get your point about objectification. I have often thought about how it doesn't seem possible to disconnect objectification from physical attraction. I don't necessarily buy into your binary separating the physical goodness of sex from the "deeper" emotional/mental elements of it... I think that the sexual dynamic between any two people is different and there can be many things we get out of sex, and probably seldom is it as simple as physical vs. meaningful connection. Sex is an intimate interpersonal experience regardless of whether your partner is your s/o of 10 years or someone you met at a party an hour ago. If the desire for interpersonal connection wasn't there, why even bother with sex? There are easier ways to get yourself off if the physical sensation is what matters.

But anyway I think the difference between objectification and empowerment is often very hard to distinguish. They can look very similar but the difference is who has the power. I've talked before about how clothing is just another form of rhetoric and is making an argument to others regardless of our awareness of it or not. When someone dresses up nice because she/he wants to be noticed, there is definitely a message being asserted there. However, I don't think this is objectification, because the power is in the hands of the person making the statement. I think it turns into objectification when men (or women) interpret that message as, "I am dressed like this so that means I am thirsty/asking for it/giving you rights over my body." Maybe we're just drawing a semantic difference because I can see how you could see this as self-objectification, I just don't think it helps our understanding of power relations between people to not differentiate.

this. boys will be boys is a terrible do-nothing reasoning and a terrible apology for pernicious attitudes. Again, (and I also don't want to paint myself as some men's rights advocate or something) women are certainly injured by this the worst systemically, but it also harms men. I think often times the things "meninists" identify as oppressing them are actually products of patriarchy. It is true that men are taught to repress certain emotions, to be terrified of each others' sexuality, etc., but that is not oppression by women, that is the different side of the same patriarchal coin. Men must be dominant, they are not "allowed" to be weak like women.

but ultimately ultimately after the philosophical gender relations talk, I still think Soul Pwr would have come off totally differently with a different approach. I just don't agree that in a world full of systemically discriminatory nonsense, people should be expected to sit in chin stroking fair and balanced intellectual consideration of every person who seemingly says something sexist out of a sense of fairness because they might have misinterpreted you. Notice that it wasn't just one person who had a problem with what he said. The burden is always on the speaker to articulate himself correctly and to convey the message she/he means accurately and persuasively. That's like, the art of rhetoric essentially. It's such a cop out to say oh well my audience just doesn't get it. No man, the burden is on you to get through to your audience, not on everyone else to assume good intentions behind the tens of thousands of messages we are exposed to every day.

but I do think it would come off like that to someone who is sensitive to people not respecting women.
Basically it distresses me that you characterize being sensitive to disrespect towards a commonly disrespected group as a bad thing. I'm not some huge PC warrior, I do believe there is a context for jokes that push the line, and expression of sentiments that can make people uncomfortable for the sake of healthy discussion. It just doesn't seem like you considered those things (the context) before you said what you said which is why people jumped on you.
