I really need to change my mac. It's my recording computer but it's old as fuck (well i dunno, maybe 2006? I got it used obviously, maybe 3 years back). A few years ago i never thought i would own one (i hate Apple pretty much for various reasons) but I only got it cause i was familiar with garageband, having used it on someone else's mac, and at the time i really liked it. But truthfully now i should probably switch to a desktop, it's time i upgrade to pro tools like all other.........amateurs. And just get a second PC to record (instead of paying 400$ for a mac that'll be like from 2009 or something if i'm lucky when I could build a dekstop fit for my recording needs for way less than that)
I mean I COULD record on my current desktop but getting a computer just for recording music is really the best decision i could have made because then you never need to unplug and replug shit and i have low tolerance and patience when it comes to getting set up to record and it's really great to have it out there in the living room on sleep, permanently set up to record, daw open, ready at the click of a mouse. Also for any regular usage i want my computer to be in the bedroom which is a shit place to record obviously. |

The guy that helped me looked exactly like bob odenkirk. So much so that he has to be aware of it.

finally fired up the new 'puter and am getting it normalized. anyone else running yosemite?
i also installed ios 8.whatever on my iphone 4s so i can maybe integrate better syncing and stuff. never was much of an icloud user, always used dropbox. will be anxious to see how imessage works. all these colored tags in the finder are already starting to annoy me so i will probably turn that off. other than that i'm not seeing in drastic shifts in reality to this new os (or ios for that matter) so that's good. i dislike change. |

question: if i take the hard-drive out of the laptop that has a dead logic board and put it inside a SATU hard drive enclosure, can i still run applications (such as photoshop or illustrator) from that (now external) hard drive?
that would make sense right? i'm just trying to think of a workaround until i can find another copy of adobe css5 |

![]() call me old fashioned, but when I quit an application, I don't want that application to keep notifying me as it pushes data. re: messages. i like how it works but if it would really quit when i tell it to quit... |
