Did that ever work out for Becca? Every time i read the word polyamory i think of her cause it was in my sheltered life the first person i heard was in such a relationship. When did she leave here anyway?

I actually did the poem thing as a teen, as probably many have, though not with flowers. Terrible results. Then again, so was the poetry.

i was with someone who ended up identifying as asexual, so we stopped having sex leading her to push the idea of a one-sided open relationship onto me. i really, really wanted it to work but i only lasted a few months before we decided to call it quits. it hurt because we still loved each other a lot but we just knew it wasn't going to work anymore. i have a lot of respect for couples who can use polyamory to strengthen their relationship.

don't know about that so much as the whole concept being more of a "on the down low" thing in general

You can sort of make a Mormon/polygamy joke work because (as far as I am aware) it was a really sexist institution. One man, many wives serving him.

Polyamory is more grounded in egalitarian ideals. No, that doesn't change the fact that we still live in an unequal society. If you aren't very careful, you might end up with some really fucked up dynamics - but it's not like monogamous relationships are any different in this regard.

In short - yes, really. If you don't know anyone who is happy in a poly relationship, that means you don't know many people in that sort of relationship in the first place.

And the idea that it never working for people in your experience is irrelevant and misleading. Every couple you've ever known that isn't married or still together had the relationship end. Presumably you don't blame that on their monogamy.
