now i will say that dealing with telecoms, health insurance, or banks are another level of customer service to bitch about. but it's because customer neglect is profitable for them, esp how health insurance screws up and underpays claims all the time (definitely deliberate or at least no emphasis on QC) and there aren't many other choices. i never blame obstinate employees for refusing to do things or promising something that doesn't exist or try to sell me something when my service is not working...i blame the institution. that was my last job. we had no where near enough people do deal with the amount of calls and do the amount of work and that was because it was mismanaged and they were using the margins to make profit off of their own employees AND paying a third party to administrate something to further cut costs which i still can't begin to make sense out of

it drives me crazy when people bitch about CS at time warner or AT&T. i always say "do you know how their CS depts are run? These people you're talking about get promotions."

same here, lots of please and thank you whether they are monotone or smiling or what. Eyecontact & thank you, sometimes a joke or some kind of comment like that

someone complained about me because when i put their cake in a bag it very lightly grazed the top of the box it was in

you would have had no idea it even did that if you took it out of the box, that's how not fucked up the cake was.

i offered her another cake and apologized and she hissed at me that they didnt have another one

she went to customer service and complained and the person did the same thing i did

she went back to the bakery and got another cake. they put her original cake back in the display BECAUSE NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT

she talk to my supervisor who also expressed that he was sorry

she called corporate the next day and complained about all of us

luckily this was my first complaint ever (in 2+ years) and i didnt do anything wrong and everyone else she complained about also never gets complaints. i told my manager what happened and the consensus from everyone is she was trying to get a free cake. the complaint is still in my file though.

this pizza joint i worked at, we had these two twenty something women who were just on the other side of the highway from our delivery area make a BIG FUCKIN DEAL about it and so we deliver to them. when the driver gets there, they're at the grocery store and more profanity about how we should wait for them. 20 mins later they arrive, pizza is delivered then they call to complain it's cold. boss gives them a free pizza next time, which they do. again, not there at delivery time, complains its wrong and more bitching. Boss gives them ANOTHER free pizza and this was someone who would get on my case for dropping pepperoni. Anyway the third time, boss made the pizza. made sure it was right, express delivery. People again complained it was wrong, it was cold, and we were "fucking mentally retarded" and etc and then boss was like okay you're blacklisted and the told us they'd get KENS 5 on our case. We all started laughing at this, boss repeated it outloud, and they hung up

this was like the place where the guy dipped his sauceless pizza in marinara right? and you were like dude this is the sauce we put in the pizza and he was like no man this is "maranara" and you were like bitch i put the sauce in the fucking thing and this is the same shit but then he was like not having it...that was a good story.


And yeah some people are just born to complain about the stupidest shit. Despite all i said in this thread i only ever complained like maybe 6 times in my life and i feel they were all warranted. An i dont beleive anyone owes me even a smile. You're gonna fake it anyway so why bother. I know you dont want to be there. As long as you do your job without being an ass it's all good.

Oh i don't like fancy pizzas (like if its not mozzarella getouttahere) but if there's no meat at least have some mushrooms and green peppers and maybe onions. And spinach

Sandwiches too, i remember going to this totes hipsters place a few years back with some people visiting from the US (so i didnt choose the place) and you couldn't order a sandwich that sounded even remotely normal. It's like the sandwiches were specifically engineered to have no two ingredients you might have ever thought of putting together OR in a sandwich for that matter. Theres a reason why a ham and cheese is popular. It's because a long time ago people already went through the possible combination of shit you could put in a sandwich and have deemed that one pretty good. Well ok no probably ham and cheese happened cause that's all they had to put in between the bread but what i'm saying though is, it's still a proven combination.
