okay so I've been running windows 95/98 for the past million years and I just got my new computer so I'm new to XP, even though it's pretty easy. I'm trying to install the software for my ipaq, but when I try to install the first thing in the set of programs (outlook) it tells me that it cannot find the "package to install on the instalation media"
what does this mean and what do I do?

does the software for the ipaq say it is compatible with XP?
You might need new drivers/software for it to work in XP, which could be found at the website for ipaq, if they have one. |

no, it is. it's brand new. It wants me to install Outlook first, and the cd has a .exe file that you download from it, then install, but when i double click on the .exe file, i get the message saying "could not find a package to install on the installation media". i have no idea what that means. and I can't install the activesync or HPipaq software without outlook. it wont let me.

usually that means the actual file is bad or the cd is damaged. have you tried to install anything else lately?
