Am I the only one who can't drink hot coffee?

Or even food? I have to wait a good 5 minutes for things to cool down, otherwise I literally burn my tongue. Other people seem to enjoy pouring scalding-hot liquid into their mouths - am I alone on this or what?

For me, drinks have to be either ice cold or scalding. No in-between.

I don't care for coffee but I can't stand it hot either. It has to be either lukewarm or cold.

Over the years I've build up an immunity. I could lick lava and I wouldn't feel a thing.

i can't. i wait until my coffee is at a temperature that allows for comfortable chugging... or longer. it's not unusual for me to notice my cup still has coffee in it hours after pouring it and drink it like a shot of cheap whisky.

I always end up burning my tongue with coffee. Then I can't taste anything else for about 2 days.

If i have hot soup/coffee/tea I have to let it cool till its on the verge of being cold, otherwise I will scold myself, I don't see why it needs to be so hot that the roof of your mouth + tongue get scolded.
But, drinking a hot drink is way more satisfying.

i drink it any way. hot, warm, cold. none bother me.
i have a high tolerance i suppose so it would have to be really goddamn hot before i burnt my tongue or mouth.

Yeah, hot drinks don't appeal to me either. And even if I can eat something without burning my tongue, I can't taste it at all until it's cooled down.

I like coffee--- but it can't be so hot that it will literally burn, but if it's to a certain degree of cool, I can't drink it either. I prefer it on the hot side.
