7th Heaven Dad Stephen Collins Taped Confessing to Child Sex Abuse

Stephen Collins, who played a minister and father to seven children in 11 seasons of the WB's 7th Heaven, appears to admit on a secret recording obtained by TMZ to molesting and exposing himself to multiple underage girls. The disturbing audio was secretly recorded during a therapy session with Collins' wife, Faye Grant. The two have been engaged in a prolonged divorce proceeding.

From TMZ:

Here's what Collins didn't know at the time. Grant taped the therapy session. We're told her lawyer advised her it was legal to secretly record the conversation because in California you're allowed to secretly record conversations to gather evidence the other person committed a violent felony ... and molesting a child under the age of 14 qualifies.
The primary victim discussed between Grant and Collins is a relative of Collins' first wife, Marjorie Weinman, whom the actor admits to having molested when she was 11 in New York. "There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis," Collins tells her. She asks if he had an erection when he moved the girl's hand on his penis. He replies, "No, I mean, no. Partial, maybe I think."

Collins goes on to admit that he exposed himself to her again when she was 12 and 13. He mentions two other underage girls he was allegedly involved with, including one in Los Angeles in the same neighborhood where the couple lived.

According to TMZ, the NYPD is in possession of the tape and had officers fly to Los Angeles to interview Grant, telling the tabloid that there is "at least 3 victims."

I wonder why you'd want to bring your wife with you to therapy over stuff like this though. When it comes to child molestation, i'm sure all you have is enemies, no friends. The only reason your therapist isn't telling anyone (allegedly) is because by law they're not supposed to.

i'll give him though that he WAS seeing a therapist over this. Doing so when you haven't even been busted seems to indicate to me he was making an effort to change his ways. at least...

it's just a coroners term for something like cancer or ebola. it could be ebola. she probably died from being sick, which is a natural cause. just means it wasn't an accident, suicide or a homicide.

Wow. I'd heard about the awesomeness that was 7th heaven through my gf (when i told her about that guy being accused of diddling children yesterday she was downright gleeful) but i never knew it was THAT awesome. "You let a joint into our house!" "What if the kids had found it!" look if you have to worry about your pre-tween children lighting the first joint they find...not sure how well you're doing as a parent. "Cool a..... cigarette-like thingie...let's smoke it!" I wouldn't have known a joint by sight when i was 10 even and my parents were anything but conservative.

It's a shame that Jessica Biel got any work after that. Nobody involved in this shit should have been able to have a career and especially not that vapid empty vessel of an alleged person. And yet that ran for 11 years. Jesus actually wept i'm sure.

It is admissible. Since the crime is a felony, you don't get the same legal protection as you would for a lesser crime. You're allowed to record someone admitting to a violent felony without their knowledge. That may be a Patriot Act thing, idk.

You can trust duo on this - he's looked into it. He sometimes divulges more pertinent info on these matters via private appointment, if you're interested - but he may be under surveillance so it's best to meet at a restaurant, etc.
