Back in the '90s my sister and I discovered that there was a giant cesspit of people who loved The Smashing Pumpkins as much as we did. They weren't at our school, they weren't hanging out in the dick-graffitied play equipment in the park; they were all over the world and came together on Netphoria – a group of pretty rudimentary online messageboards dedicated to the band.

Are those people still around?

He'd gone to a coffee shop and had all sorts of brave adventures,” Mike says.

I'd imagine the Beach Boys' Smiley Smile boards are close. Either that or their web designer is stuck in 1995. Technically Hipinion has been around since like 2000 if you i n c l u d e the Pitchfork message boards. Ateaseweb has been around for a while as well. But yeah, this has got to be close to the oldest "active" message board.

I remember Zoe. I thought she was cute (but I was probably too old to admit it). I once creepily listened in on her and those australian guys having a voice chat (well they knew i was there). Someone played guitar. Possibly Mike. I think she was known as Capulet. Kind of an hilarious article.

i just found that photo in an old backup folder of random shit. i found the file that i shrunk down to make my sig, too. it says it was last modified november 1st, 2001, so chances are I've been using it since that day.

I was tricked by someone (i don't remember who) at the UC show to take a spot much further from the stage than the ticket i'd bought (read, i was a pussy and said sure why not and exchanged the ticket even if it wasn't to my advantage, which looking back didn't matter since the sound was ass everywhere i'm sure) and i ended up next to Eve. At some point during the show she hugged me out of nowhere (i really didn't know her well). I didn't know what to do so i didn't hug back, just stood there awkwardly. Possibly making it the only time shes ever touched a man and got no reaction. i'm pretty sure she would have done the whole board given the chance.
