You were probably trying too hard man. Girls don't give a fuck about some guy text messaging them about some old-ass bands from the 80's that she should check out. She was probably just humoring you at first by acting interested in these bands, but she likely just doesn't give a hoot.

It's not the same as liking the same food or sports team or something.
You like a band because there's a part of you in the artist.

She brought up to me that she liked The Smiths and Joy Division and she asked me to tell her which bands to listen to. She was honestly interested by all evidence.
She just finished recommending that I listen to The Slits.

It's true. I remember the days of actually having to pick up a phone and CALL a women whom I met the previous night. It's nerve-wracking but ultimately exhilarating. Grow up man. Music has nothing to do with having a successful romantic relationship. Sure, it's an "in" for a meeting point, but it's largely meaningless.

I remember meeting this gorgeous girl when I was younger and she told me she was into SP and I was all smitten. I added her on "MSN" and she even had her display pick of ole "Corg"... Turns out she was just some twit trying to be cool and only really liked the big hits.... The Smiths and Joy Division are the TRENDY bands to mention in this era.... Means nothing at all man.,
