on the outside, perhaps.

But on the inside it boasts a VIA motherboard, 800mHz CPU, 20gig HDD, 24X CD-ROM, and other goodies! (actually, that's about it).

the keyboard and mouse plug in the front controller ports too

I took some more beauty shots of the sexy beast:

as well as a shot of myself upon first successful boot up of the machine, feeling like champion of the universe!

scratch - the kits are apparently a big rip-off, as they're massively overpriced and have cheap-ass parts. In any case, if you've put together a computer before, it's not that much harder - just takes a little more drilling/gluing, and a bit of creativity as far as figuring out how to cram everything inside the tiny box and keep it from overheating.

I also got a lot of help from a bunch of websites online. Seems like a cult is starting to develop around this stuff (just wanted to try it out before it goes mainstream)

fastest I've heard being pulled off is 1.1Ghz, but even then there's a lot of bottlenecking on the system bus, and since basically all of the hardware is integrated on the mobo (including the CPU), you get a lot of slowdown. Since you can kiss any chance of putting in a half decent video card (or basically any PCI/AGP card at all) goodbye, you don't have very much say in the matter.

Anywho, this baby isn't really equipped to be my main computer - it's mainly just for novelty factor And it was helluva fun (and frustrating) to build too.
