Cry Me a River was a good song for what it was.

But I'm not even talking about just that kind of pop. I'm talking about pop-rock, pop-punk, pop-metal, pop-rap, etc.

The Police were dons.

After being forced to listen to the same good charlotte CD for 4 hours straight on TWO occasions, I can't listen to anymore pop punk whatsoever.

I think of "pop" as being more of a style than a genre. I rarely think of it as good or bad in itself.

I like that Kelly Clarkston(sp?) song

(but then again it sounds like anyother femaile artist around today could have done the song, ie nothing special, but that beat is sick)

I agree with lie, pop is a style not a genre. And liking pop music doesn't automatically mean I like Britney and Good Charlotte.

I'm talking about the Black Album.

Evanescence and Linkin Park are hardly even metal. More like hard alternative. Which is entirely lame in of itself.

....So you dont like britteny good charlotte linkin park or evanescence..... Where is the contraversy in your statement

Pop stylings are good, look at the foo fighters when they took away their pop stylings

Only pop i really hate is blatent exploitative pop, all the bleeding heart bullshit, or lack of subtlety when trend jumping.

Oh, and Timberlakes beat-box solo on his latest single, is the single most hilarious thing iv ever heard/seen.

The way the industry has been for the past few years, I think it's better to consider 'top 40' music its own genre.

Occoasionally a song comes along that I like. Like that Kylie Minougue song. Tasty. And anything by Sugar Ray. They know how to write a 3-minute pop song. I must admit they are genius'.
