I suppose this is also the place to dispel the urban legend about how Hasidim supposedly display the bloody sheets on the morning after the wedding night to prove the bride was a virgin. No, we don't do that one, either. There was a scene spoofing this in the movie Yentl but, as I explained in Part 1, Question 9 of this FAQ, "Yentl" is a comedy, not a documentary -- and like most comedies, it's full of absurd cliches.

nope. They avoid modern "worldly" stuff like that in their private lives, but for work/business etc, its acceptable. ie i know some Amish use computers for their farm business.
i'm sure some avoid all that completly, but most are ok with it if its work related... basically as long as its not personal.
