i used to be in a pretty awsome band. me on guitar, my friend on guitar, and another friend on drums. we all matched so well. our styles and philosophies and approached and everything. the drummer was this very eccentric jazz-fusion creep, myself a less technical and more emotive player and the other guitarist the opposite. we were 13 and we were playing psychadelic scream jams. songs that were like 30 minutes long. some pretty unreal stuff. we would go fucking nuts. we played a show and just had one 20 minutes set of freaky shit and improv. now i play drums too and i just have a lot of casual jams with various mainly jazz-oriented guys. the great thing is most of them are very progressive about it. im still friends with the drummer and a new guy who are the most creative about it. no one wants to be content. no one wants to do something played or insincere. another guy comes from an all musical family, his dad being some huge sax player ive never heard of. you should hear some of the stuff we play. fucking wicked stuff. 5 hour jams with no instigated songs or plans. the best kinda stuff. we do it once and thats it, we dont ever try to do it again

I've been in some pretty cool bands. The one band i was in lasted 4 years errr so. Split the band up cuz of members moving.
I still write music and lyrics but it's hard to find any musicians who are any good. seriously alot are shit and dont want to commit. Drummers are even harder to find, because 80% really fuckin suck, and the other ones are taken already.
I think im gonna break down and buy a drum machine after the summer, and also get a new comp and gear so i can do some demo's. After all, i did go to school at recording arts of canada, so I might as well put my skills to use, even if i cant find work in the industry. As far as playing clubs and stuff, i really miss that kinda stuff. I miss the acoustic sets the best cuz the last band i was in was very acoustic orriented. I still write most of my songs on acoustic first then translate to electric, but i do have those harder songs that are never meant to be on acoustic.
I've been really itchin to start another band, i think so far all i can get is a singer, but i still need some other musicians.
anyone know the kazoo?

Tell me about it. My drummer is thinking of going to architecture school far away and I am begging him to stay because there's no way I'm gonna find another one anytime soon...

Nah not really jczeroman ... that question was to find out how many people on here are seriously trying to make a go of it in the music industry. At the same time I wanted to check out the stuff that was done for fun cause that's often the best stuff there is (see Mayfucks mp3's).

Basically I wanted to check out the talent in and around the phoria out of curiosity, and to a certain extent from a professional stand point as well.
