I want to see him win his 3rd this year and go anywhere but Miami next year and win at least 3 more. It'd be awesome to see the best player in a sports league dominate on one team and lead them to a dynasty and then just go to another team in the middle of their prime and lead that team to a dynasty. That's just something you don't see. It'd be awesome to see him go to Cleveland but I don't think he'd do that unless he got confirmation from Kyrie that he wouldn't leave of LeBron came.

My pipe dream is that he signs with the Sixers. Sixers would have MCW, Nerlens Noel, most likely a shot at Wiggins/Parker/Randle plus another lottery pick. They would have enough cap space to sign LeBron and another big money FA. The only problem is that while talented the Sixers would be extremely young and inexperienced outside of James, Thaddeus Young, and whoever else they decided to bring in with James. James would have to carry that team the first few years but they would be able to carry him when he starts to enter the latter days of his career.

Let's say his best friend Wade agreed to follow him there. You would have as your starting five:

Wade-MCW-Wiggins-LeBron-Noel

Then coming off the bench you would have Thaddeus Young, whoever the Sixers get with the Pelican's lottery pick, and the batch of vets chasing rings willing to take small deals for a chance of riding James to a championship.

The Sixers will have the cap space. They are one of the biggest markets in the country. It is one of the historically great NBA franchise and James would be able to add resurrecting it to his resume as the GOAT.

How is that not enticing? He would remain in the Eastern conference which you know he wants to do. He would still get to play with Wade but he wouldn't be anchored with him since there would be so much young talent on the team that is only going to get better and day be able to carry LeBron.

1. Wade is falling apart and fast, if you actually watched basketball you'd know already.

2. Noel hasn't done anything yet

3. T young is a starter, and a good one, not "coming off the bench." in fact lebron would render him awkward in the lineup and he'd need to be moved. he's very much a poor man's lebron james. a guy with speed of small forward but the beef and rebounding ability to play in the post. thad is very undersized down there, however, which is part of why bron is bron.

4. It is not one of the biggest markets. it's a large market but it's not appealing FA destination, that's why your team(s) always suck have you not noticed. Well that and your organization is crap. If you get Wiggins, perhaps you'll see more FA interest. Your team is going to suck for at least 5 more years, and LeBron is not interested in going to a sucky team.

5. calling them historically great is a bit of an overstatement

When Wilt played for the 76ers, he scored his 100 point games. That's great for Wilt but it really underscores how bad the rest of the team is. When he left, they were atrocious capped off with 72/73 when they went 9-73 a losing record still to be unequaled. The bobcats had a lower winning percentage during a short season but nobody's been 9-73.

the late 70s and early 80s no doubt they were one of the classic teams of the NBA but one successful era does not make you historically great. The Iverson era was fun but it was also very bad frequently, outside of the one run to the finals. Fact is that even though iverson was a delight to watch, at the end of the day a bad player. It hasn't gotten better since.

I think they are a "marquee franchise" because of their market and history. It's not that they are particularly successful but they are invoved in both high and lowlights of NBA history. I'd say the Spurs are much more historically excellent due to the fact that they have the 3rd highest win % of all time, and have missed the ABA/NBA playoffs only 4 times in history. I consider the Knicks, Pacers and Warriors to be historically better than Philadelphia. I wouldn't say Philly is a large market historically great franchise, there's only two of those in the NBA and they have most of the championships. Further, lets face it are they not the fourth most popular franchise in your city? I mean i know basketball is not really one of your sports, even you tend to prefer the iggles and flyers i believe.

1. Please please please. What a fucking joke. I watch Basketball. I am more knowledgeable on any sport than you or anyone else on this board. Please don't try to entertain any other thought because it's not even in the discussion.

Wade can't stay healthy and needs to be preserved. But when he plays and gives his full effort he is still very effective. The purpose of Wade going to the Sixers would be to further entice LeBron to also sign with the Sixers.

2. Noel has done everything he has needed to do and that is to take all the time of this tank season to rehab and heal fully from his knee surgery. He was having perhaps the most dominant defensive college season ever before his injury. As long as he can stay healthy he is going to develop into an elite defensive force in the NBA.

http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/d...in-action.html
(Video is just cool to see him in some action practicing)

3. T Young is a quality player. No more no less. He isn't some all start that demands starting. He is 7 years into the league and is what he is at this point. If were delegated to the bench like he had been for much of his career he would be a quality player there.

4. Do you know what a market is? Philadelphia is the 4th largest market in the country behind only NYC, LA, and Chicago. The quality of team has not one tiniest bit of relevance as to the market that the team is located in. The team hasn't been an appealing FA destination because it has for a decade just been stuck in the purgatory of mediocrity that teams find themselves stuck in. Forever just floating either just outside of the playoffs or a bottom seed that gets bounced in the first round. Sam Hinkie has blown it all up and masterfully set the Sixers on a path back to relevance. You look around the Eastern Conference and there isn't another team whose future is looking better than the Sixers.

5. To try to disregard the Sixers historic significance in the NBA shows your complete ignorance on the subject. In addition to having 5 of the 50 best players in the history of the league (Wilt, Ervin, Malone, Barkley and Iverson) they also boast having the third-highest victory total and third most playoff appearances in NBA history. A recent decade of struggles does not wipe the fact that they have been one of the most historically significant franchises in the leagues history.

Basketball has always been my second favorite sport behind Football. It's the only sport besides football that I watch a lot of the games of which my team is not a part of. Sixers and the 4th most popular team in the city because it's a very fanweather sports town. If any of the young talent they have now or are set to land in the draft pan out to be great all stars and/or we land LeBron than they can easily become the 2nd most popular team in the city. If they win multiple titles then they can top the Eagles as the most popular team in town.

Your whole post is a joke.

oh man i'm SO GLAD you want to dispute that, i really am

the championships aren't there (yet) but skill for skill, lebron is as good as or far better than jordan

he's like some kind of unholy cross between shawn kemp and magic johnson. he will become undeniably the GOAT and i'm already convinced he is

so i'm looking at advanced stats here and i'm finding them to be very similar in efficiency
however lebron is a far better rebounder and offensive facilitator
lebron shoots threes better than jordan,
jordan is a better stealer than lebron but lebron's overall defense is better. evidence that it seems pretty clear that he's going to contend for Defensive POY for the next thousand years (I think Hibbert has snatched one this year), jordan didn't win it once.

now shooting is a different story i'd need to see kirk goldberry shot charts to really measure the two, i think they're both about equally as good at slashing to the basket but lebron is way bigger and is thus better. i think jordan was better at spot up shooting. i can't tell which is better at the run and shoot. lebron is an inside player so shooting percentages favor him more, but the fact that he's rarely if ever shot less than 30% from three and jordan tended to have that be his plateau. Jordan picked up the 3 point shot for 2 years it looks like and then it went back to where he was usually below 30%. it's close, neither of them are good but the two seasons after he came back show that he did pick up a pretty good 3 point shot but the last year it fell off again.

lebron is undeniably, faster, stronger and bigger than jordan. when you are built like a PF and you run like that and have reflexes and quickness like that it's obscene.

it'll probably fall off and he'll need to adapt but his facilitation and passing skills and rebounding are techniques. older guys get better at shooting if they're real good players.

honestly at this point in jordan's career he was playing baseball and 3-4 years older than lebron. this guy is going to completely wreck shop, barring a catastrophic injury.

Q4 G7 of last year's finals completely convinced me that this guy is capable of the mental focus and determination to truly get it on like donkey kong but his Achilles heel is that he likes to kind of play with his prey...jordan was brutally ruthless. there was no playfulness

which also makes me LIKE lebron more, as a person.

GOAT

as a parting note about the 76ers, they are trying to be east coast spurs and that alone is good for the future. i'm bullish on young and MCW. they are very bad, though. and i'm not sure what the granger trade did for them

We needed cash for this year since we were so far under the cap. Plus it picked up another 2nd for next year. He's just going to get bought out.

I don't think you understand that they are very bad this season on purpose. Sam Hinkie has a plan and he is pulling it off to perfection. It all started during the past draft with the Jrue Holiday trade for Noel and the Pelican's 1st for this season. This upcoming draft is going to solidify the young core and building blocks on the team that will have them in a few years alone as one of the contending teams in the Eastern conference.

Next year the Sixers without any potential FA (and they are set to have a huge amount of cap space) are going to have at least in all likelyhood MCW, Noel, Young, Wiggins/Parker/Randle, and someone else from this loaded draft class in a pick that will hopefully be in the 6-10 range for the Sixers.
