CW is absolutely right. banana posts about predictably bro things and bands that were hip 5+ years ago that he just discovered and CW's interests come directly out of some kind of null cultural state, as if he lives in stasis and culture in a social context is something that happens to other people

I saw Jackie Brown today on Netlfix. Truly great film. The only Tarantino movie that feels grounded in real life situations. You sympathize with the characters even if you can't necessarily relate to them. It's not trying to be ironic. It's not over-the-top. At times it feels like a blaxploitation film.

I hope "Life of Crime" is nearly as good.

its one of my favorite tarantino movies. kind of wish he made more like that.. after kill bill everything he did was a fantasy western.. not that i'm complaining. but it was a really good to the point heist flick

It's interesting how Jackie Brown could actually fall into several different genres: heist film, film noir, or blaxploitation. It covers a lot of ground stylistically.

it riffs from blaxploitation flicks but i don't really see how it is one other than the fact it has pam grier

It's not as violent as blaxploitation films generally are but I think some of the themes and tone are still there.
