I downloaded some Flaming Lips the other day and was thoroughly unimpressed. It sounded like stoner music.

it's not better than Hit to Death in the Future Head.

but i'm not a huge Yo La Tengo fan really either.

i've only heard clouds taste metallic and yoshimi from the flips, and i didn't like yoshimi, while i loved clouds taste metallic.

but, everything from YLT i have liked.

(no, there was not point to my post)

It's not even close to being Yo La Tengo's best album, let alone close to being better than the Lips' best work.

I do <3 this thread, though. It's refreshingly pointless.

In my opinion I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One is tied in its greatness with The Soft Bulletin.

Yeah, he was right about the thread being fucking stupid though. Why would you bother with the flaming lips thing? Why can't people discuss a fucking album instead of just making stupid, nonsensical >>> INSERTBANDALBUMSONGVIDEO comments. It's ridiculous, and it's the worst thing about this board.

Although I don't know if he's wrong. I only heard that album a couple months ago and it's the only YLT album I've heard besides Summer Sun. He probably is wrong though

heh, well i've got no problem with his judgement; i was making a rather passive attempt at figuring out what his favorite YLT would be.

but i find it really hard to believe that someone would say i can hear the heart beating as one is nowhere near their best effort. hence my curiosity.

ANNC: I fucked up and got And Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out confused with I Can Hear the Heart Beating As One. I Can Hear etc. is really good. I apologize for the screw-up.

Since you asked, though, my favorite Yo La Tengo album is Painful.
