Default Some advice on enjoying indie rock

I download a lot of the shit people talk about on this board and 80% of it sounds like shit.

so my question is, how do you go about convincing yourself that your music is listenable?

Well, you already took the offensive by saying stupid shit like, "How do you go about convincing yourself that your music is listenable?" So I think he has every right to defend himself.

that's perfectly normal. to be an indie music fan you have to believe that 80% of indie music sucks.

80% of music you hear nowadays sucks, period. Radio stations and record labels bank on the hegemony of the familiar, so a lot of talented, unique artists get the shaft.

Um, 80% of indie rock IS shit. Stop "trying" to listen to "indie rock." Educate yourself on music, period, so that you have connections to everything you're listening to. Once your interests start to branch you won't have to convince yourself of anything.
