I'm not a Dio fan. IMO his persona seemed like too much camp for the band. I always found his vocals offputting. Granted it's always been Iommi's band, but by the time they got to Technical Ecstacy I think they should have just called it quits instead of fronting Ozzy substitutes. Or maybe just changed the name of the band...
also, the new record is pretty good and shows that Iommi, Butler and Osbourne are still better than almost any hard rock band of the past few decades. |
