If you like the good Coffee, Caffe Sapore on Taylor and Lombard just off Columbus is the bomb.

Bottom of the Hill or the Independent should have some decent acts in town.

The good pot is at the Height.

The good Heroin is in the Tenderloin.

My very first day walking down Haight, fresh off the plane and new to the area... a 13 yo girl approached me to sell me some weed. I told her she needed to get back in school and get an education and she laughed at me. Then a black homeless man who was either drunk or high, stumbled toward me and ripped some papers out of my hand that I had picked up at Amoeba. He made a strange noise that went "Ehhnnnn Ehhhnnnn".

Later that night I was going to get something to eat and a guy stopped me and said "I just saw Jesus Christ!" and I'm like..... really? Cool. I kept walking and looked across the street and saw a big tall guy with a beard pushing a painted white crucifix on wheels, struggling and acting as if he was really going to Golgotha.

After supper while we were walking back to the car a guy playing guitar had a sign that said "Fuck you give me change" so we gave him change.

That was my first time in SF.

It was kind of a shock for me, I had never seen so many homeless, not even in Kansas city. I always had this image of the bay area being full of hippies, peace, love, and surfers. The Haight looked like a hell hole, the street was dirty and trash was all over the place. I think I saw someone's shit in the corner of someone's store too.

as someone who grew up poor, yeah, i have resentment against those who pretend to be but could easily call mom and dad to make it all better.

trade show was tiring. I did a factory tour in Napa today. Trip is almost over.

Things I saw or did in San Fran:

I saw a "google bus"
I bought a single can of beer at a Walgreens in the tenderloin
got hit on by a drunk 60 yr old woman at an irish pub
tried to rent one of those socialist city bikes and couldn't get my card to work in the machine
went hiking in the hills in the East Bay
found Monte's house and took a giant shit by his front door.

waiting now for my Red Eye back to Michigan. I put two bottles of expensive wine in my checked bag and I'm worried it could break.
