This issue is less about Phil Robertson and A & E than it is about freedom of speech and Christians who believe homosexuality is a sin and the GLAAD community that wishes to dispel that notion. I think that is a very interesting and provocative debate and one I haven't decided on one way or the other.

Go to work on Monday and tell everyone there that you hate gays and they spread diseases. Let's see how fast you get fired. No one took away his right to free speech. He said whatever he wanted to, and if A&E decided to keep him off the show, it still wouldn't be an infringement on his rights because he's still free to go on and keep making a homophobic ass of himself.

actually sat down and watched a little bit of it with my 8 year old cousin who loves the show.

i mentioned the Bathhouse gangs as a counterpart to your view of backwooded christians. Not all christains hold the views Robertson does nor do all gays slither around in glory hole sesspools.

In the early 80's in San Francisco when GRID was spreading like wildfire in the gay community, the surgeon general for the city did a proper epidemiological study and concluded that to stop the spread of GRID, the city should shut down the bathhouses.
